The design connects the two land parcels through an experiential trail and a series of gardens that are curated around the nature of their users, transforming circulation into a sequence of distinct yet linked experiences. Along this trail, pauses, clearings, and themed garden rooms are calibrated for different user groups—such as quiet contemplative pockets for readers, shaded zones for informal gatherings, and more active edges for walkers — so that movement between the parcels becomes an engaging journey rather than a simple transit.

A residential compound owned by a couple, with two distinctly different soil systems, provided the primary cues for the landscape design. The land mass that previously functioned as a farm is reimagined as a generous gathering garden, structured with local stone retaining walls, open lawns, and a swimming pool to host family events and social functions. In contrast, the second parcel, characterized by saline soil, becomes an ideal setting for a resilient local flower garden, carefully planted with salt-tolerant species that align with the owners’ preferences while responding to the site’s limitations.

A connecting trail stitches these two gardens together, choreographed as an experiential walk that reveals the changing character of the land. Along this path, dynamic green enclosures are created using varied plant palettes, textures, and heights, with pause points strategically positioned to frame views of key landscape elements such as the stone walls, water surface of the pool, seasonal flower displays, and distant tree canopies
